HTC First Full Review
Mobile Phone industry have been constantly trying to create a smart phone that could be a Facebook Phone. The idea that the phone would have everything to do with Facebook didn't make much of a sense to most people. But, HTC comes up with the latest smart phone - the HTC First.
What makes the HTC First almost a Facebook Phone is the Facebook Home Software. At the first look it is not all that appealing a phone. But, as one gets to know the phone, it might turn out to be a good option to invest in this Smart phone
The First is a smooth and well designed phone with some interesting specifications. It runs on a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor. It also has 1GB of RAM, a non-removable 2000mAh battery and a 16 GB internal storage. The screen size is 4.3 inches with a 720x1280 SuperLCD 3 display. Talking about cameras, the First has a 5MP primary camera on the rear and a 1.6MP front camera.
HTC First is a solid piece of polycarbonate with rounded edges. The colour options include Red, White, Blue and Black. Taking a tour of the phone, the left side of has a volume control, the right side contains a microUSB port next to which is a micro SIM card slot, the top has a secondary microphone accompanied by a power button and a headphone jack, lastly, the bottom has a speaker.
The rear is incorporated with a camera and the flash at the top towards the left and logos at the bottom. The front side has a camera to the top on the left with sensors and notification LED lights to the top right. The top(front)of the phone also has a speaker grille as well as the Back, Home and Menu keys at the bottom. One of the appealing aspect of the phone is that it could be used in one hand. The sound quality is pretty much at the lower side.
The First comes with a SuperLCD 3 display. With a resolution of 720x1280 at 4.3 inches which gives a 341 ppi contributes to the superb clarity of the phone. Displaying bright vivd colours with great depth brings more colour and crispness to the photos or videos on the phone. Movies are brilliant, images are sharp, and the whole interface is complimented.
Performance & Battery
HTC is brilliant at it's user interface. Making a simple interactive interface between the user and the phone, thanks to the Android JellyBean OS, interaction is just amazing. Graphic transitions are quite smooth with very little lag while multi tasking, which is not annoying, and apps load quite quickly. The entire design might be vibrant with punchy colours, but all that's a part of socialising. Apps launch quickly, and also perform smooth with a good efficiency. Running power hungry apps, and graphic intensive games will definitely drain the battery, but however it can quite easily handle such apps.
First has a 2000mAh non-removable battery. The battery life totally depends on the usage. It is sufficient enough to last an entire day, without needing to hunt for a charge every time, unless if you are going to be playing gamings, watching HD videos most of the time.
HTC First is a brilliant smart phone, and is quite capable with not just it's configuration but it's performance characteristics. Battery life could be an added advantage with smart phones having to last an entire day at least on a medium usage. It all comes down to a brilliant screen, a good battery, a fit in hand build, good features all of this priced quite affordably. The market's big, and you want an Android smart phone with a good set of features, you might just stick to HTC First.
